PRESS: Rusagro can buy Russian business of Valio
MOSCOW, Apr 19 (PRIME) -- Russian agricultural holding Rusagro plans to buy the Russian business of Finland's Valio, that is leaving the country, business daily Kommersant reported on Tuesday citing an investment source.
Valio owns a plant in the Moscow Region with a capacity of 15,000 tonnes of products per year.
The source told Kommersant that the deal would encompass the rights to use the brand Viola besides the acquisition of the facility.
Streda Consulting CEO Alexei Gruzdev said that Viola is Valio’s key asset, and without it, Rusagro would have to undergo a costly process of own brand development on a competitive market.
